Ricardo Mack

Ricardo is a PhD candidate in the cancer biology program under the guidance of Or Gozani. He is generally interested in cancer epigenetics and deciphering the complex relationships between diverse features that are present in chromatin. His projects revolve around characterizing multiple methyltransferases that target lysine 36 on Histone 3(H3K36) of nucleosomes. These H3K36 methyltransferases are often dysregulated in various cancers, highlighted in his project investigating one family member in particular, ASH1L, and its role in lung adenocarcinoma pathogenesis. Outreach is an important part of his life as well as spending time with friends through board games, anime, or exercise.
