Angie Hawkins

Angie Hawkins (née Esquivel) joined VPGE in October 2019 as Associate Director of Educational Programs. At VPGE, Angie primarily works with graduate professional development and interdisciplinary initiatives like Quick Bytes, SGSI, and Grad Grow. Angie also represents Stanford externally by chairing the Graduate Career Consortium's (GCC) membership & belonging committee and serving as the institutional representative for the Association for Women in Science (AWIS).
 
Angie's career at Stanford began in January 2016 after moving from Washington, DC, to serve as Assistant Dean of Students in the Graduate Life Office. At GLO, Angie provided on-call case management and crisis response to graduate students experiencing various personal or academic challenges at Stanford. Angie brings over 15 years of experience in higher education to her work in VPGE and four years of teaching experience at the college level.
 
Angie holds a Master of Arts in Higher Education from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, and graduated magna cum laude from the University of Southern California with a BA in Music and a minor in Music Industry. Outside of her work at Stanford, Angie volunteers as a panelist with the Silicon Valley Family & Children Services' LGBT Speaker's Bureau, co-hosts a podcast (Trauma Response: A True Traumedy Podcast), and enjoys all things true crime, Beyoncé, '90s music, and spending time with her wife and pets.
