Anka Reuel

My research focuses on technical research for AI governance, aiming to design and develop technological tools and mechanisms that inform and enable effective AI governance. This interdisciplinary work bridges computer science and political science, addressing the complex challenges posed by the rapid advancement of AI. My research agenda encompasses three main areas: (1) operationalizing responsible AI development, deployment, and use; (2) understanding the technical gaps between regulatory aspirations and technical state of the art, and (3) international AI governance. By integrating technical expertise with policy understanding, I aim to develop governance instruments that are robust, effective, and enforceable, ultimately fostering responsible AI development, deployment, and use that protects public interests and promotes global stability.
