Aya Mouallem
Aya Mouallem (she/her) is a PhD candidate in Electrical Engineering, minoring in Education. Her current research explores the development of affordances to improve the accessibility of electronics-based engineering education to learners who are blind or have low vision. Her broader scholarly agenda seeks to lower the barriers to entry to engineering fields by developing teaching frameworks and education technology that is inclusive to all students, especially historically marginalized learners. Aya regularly teaches and mentors across her fields of interest: engineering education, human-centered design, accessibility, and human-computer interaction. She enjoys time with family and friends, big cities, and the outdoors.
