Eduardo Tassoni Tsuchida

Eduardo Tassoni Tsuchida is a PhD candidate in Biology working in Dr. Onn Brandman’s laboratory in the Biochemistry department. His thesis focuses on understanding how protein synthesis is regulated when cells are exposed to heat stress. Eduardo was born and raised in São Paulo, Brazil, where he received his B.S. and teaching degrees in Biological Sciences from the University of São Paulo. As a first-generation college student himself, Eduardo organizes the Biology Preview Program (BPP), a mentorship program for underrepresented students to help them navigate graduate school applications. Outside the laboratory, Eduardo enjoys playing volleyball, rock climbing, ceramics and cooking.
