Erica McCormick

Erica McCormick (she/they) is a PhD candidate in Earth System Science. She grew up on a horse ranch in Texas and received her B.S. from the University of Texas at Austin after attending boarding high school. Her research uses satellite remote sensing to understand where, when, and why vegetation accesses water stored in weathered bedrock (as opposed to soils) and what the implications of rock moisture are for forest resilience to climate change. In her free time, she likes to be outside as much as possible with her dog, play bluegrass music, and dabble in ceramics and fiber arts.
