Jenny Yang
Born and raised in Vietnam, Jenny Yang is a PhD Candidate in Social Psychology with a PhD Minor in Educational Policy. Her research examines cultural differences in models of success—implicit understandings of what “success” means and how a “successful” person should feel, think, and act—to better understand affirmative action in college admissions. Jenny has been a community-engaged scholar for over a decade, supporting schools and organizations in WA, OR, CA, and GA. As a first-generation high school graduate, Jenny received the NSF Graduate Research Fellowship, the Stanford Graduate Public Service Fellowship, and the Stanford Centennial Teaching Award.
