Lorato Anderson

Lorato Anderson joined the VPGE office in March of 2025 as the Associate Director of Educational Programs, developing and managing Graduate Professional Development (GPD), Stanford Graduate Summer Institute (SGSI), and Student Projects for Intellectual Community Enhancement (SPICE). Prior to arriving at Stanford, she served as the Director of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion in Graduate Studies at the University of California, Santa Cruz. Previous roles include Graduate Programs Advisor and Coordinator and Undergraduate Advisor. She has extensive experience in teaching, advising, assessment, grant writing, strategic planning, and creating long-lasting research-backed programs to promote graduate student success.

Lorato received her M.S. in Higher Education Administration and Policy from Northwestern University and B.A. in Literature and Writing from the University of California, San Diego. In her free time, Lorato loves playing disc golf and participating in her Santa Cruz artists' collective.
