Míša Stekl

Míša Stekl is a PhD Candidate in the Program of Modern Thought and Literature, with PhD minors in Comparative Studies of Race and Ethnicity and in Feminist, Gender, and Sexuality Studies. Their research interests lie in queer and trans* theory, Black studies, and 20^th-century continental philosophy. Their dissertation, “Accursed Races: (Anti)Blackness and Queer/Trans Modernity,” argues that queerness and transness were historically constructed in fraught relation to discourses of “race” that emerged in the afterlives of racial slavery and colonialism. Míša holds a B.A. in Philosophy and Comparative Literature from Emory University.
