Tenzin Norzin
Tenzin Norzin (they/them) is a PhD student in the Biology Department at Stanford University. Norzin holds a Bachelor of Science and a first-class honours in Biology from the Australian National University. Their undergraduate research and honours thesis modeled how long-term climatic warming may affect the carbon dynamics (respiration & photosynthesis), survival and reproduction of plants in the Australian Alps.
Norzin’s doctoral research explores changes in the biological diversity of the transboundary ecosystems of the Himalayas and the Tibetan Plateau. Weaving biological research methods (ecology, evolution & molecular biology) with traditional ways of being & knowing, Norzin attends to questions of sustainability and biocultural conservation in the midst of climate and social changes with transnational community partners including local and displaced peoples.
They enjoy gardening and listening to stories with their families and communities.
