Yasin Al-Amin

Yasin Al-Amin is a PhD Candidate in the Department of Philosophy. His research interests lie in moral philosophy, Kant's ethics, and 19th century German philosophy (especially Nietzsche). At Stanford, he has been an Enhancing Diversity in Graduate Education (EDGE) Doctoral Fellow and was awarded the School of Humanities and Sciences Fellowship. Prior to beginning his studies at Stanford, he spent a year as a Predoctoral Fellow in the Department of Politics at Princeton University, where he was an Emerging Scholar in Political Science, and earned a B.A. in Philosophy from the University of California, Berkeley, where he was a Ronald E. McNair Scholar and graduated with Highest Distinction. He began his academic career at Cerritos Community College.
