The Stanford Language Center offers courses and assessments in more than 50 languages, including English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL). Matriculated graduate students are welcome in language courses, whether language study is needed for a degree program or is simply an interest they wish to pursue. Students who have a background in a language that they wish to study must take a placement test before enrolling.

The Stanford Storytelling Project wants to help Stanford students, faculty and staff learn the craft of storytelling, Open to all students regardless of majors and experience, you can meet StoryLab mentors one on one to learn about the power of stories and see how you can deepen your life, work, and research through story telling. Appointments are 30 minutes long, and drop-ins are welcome, with preference given to students who have made appointments.

Stanford Engineering's Technical Communication Program offers technically-oriented courses on speaking and writing skills to interested students from all disciplines. Check their website for current course offerings and enrollment information. 

The CIRTL mission is to enhance excellence in undergraduate education through the development of a national STEM faculty committed to implementing and advancing effective teaching practices for diverse learners. To that end, the CIRTL website has a number of resources geared towards helping you become a better teacher, from program evaluation methods and science communication guides, to syllabi examples and research on equity building, and more.
